Sweat Beads and Drummers Beat

long live rooftop shows
This past summer, Los Angeles-based emo-punk band Membership hosted a series of rooftop shows in Historic Filipinotown. Featuring emerging artists against the backdrop of downtown LA’s skyline, the shows created a fun, welcoming space for music lovers and the “members”—the band’s devoted cult following—to dance, sing, and express themselves.
“The rooftop shows are tangible serendipity... .” describes Membership’s lead singer Kobe Henderson, “tasting furious whimsy. Veritable joy exudes as screams from bands and fans echo through Historic Filipinotown. Sweat beads and drummers beat. Pizza is served. God only knows when the rooftop will rock once more, god only knows where we'd be without the rooftop."
Reckless Magazine gave Membership a disposable camera to document their last show of the summer, with bands Apperson, Dunk Pacino, and Membership. Here are the images.
